Waiting for repairs!

I have had my cooktop for about a month and am waiting for a repairman to come as I write this. I love the look of it and have had great success with Whirlpool appliances before now. The cooktop comes to temperature and then quits heating altogether. Could have to do with installation, I don™™t know. I can give you a better review after repairs are made.

The model received is not what was pictured and that was ordered.
The pop up centers turned from silver to dirty brown after a few uses and would not clean.
The burners will not sustain a boil - 2 minutes for tea, 10 minutes for pasta, 2+ minutes for jam, etc. New knobs ordered, installed, no improvement.
After spending almost $1000 for the cook top we had to spend another $100 to buy regular burners without the pop up center in order to cook.
If you buy this cook top, be prepared to buy regular burners to make it work

We are not happy with product. We have a new cocktop and new dishwasher, a washer and dryer we bought 2 years ago, and we are not happy with all 4 products. They are cheap and off poor quality and breakdown. We have decided to stop buying whirlpool after a long history of buying whirlpool.

I receved the cooktop Jan 13, 2026 and it was installed on Jan 15, 2026. Info in your instructions show the cooktop either has clips or brackets mounted on the base. Mine came with brackets which interferred with the countertop, so notches had to be cut out. Once in place the top is warped on the left and right front with the left side the worse. Your repair guy Patrick from 1800 Appliance showed up on Jan. 27, 2026 and took photos and submitted info to his company and Whirlpool. Since then I spoke to Angela in your customer service and asked why I couldn't get a new stovetop instead of a hectic repair or monetary compensation towards the original cost of the cooktop and the hasslie I have gone through to use it. The stove top was purchased from Home Depot. Angela gave me a case #22242996 and said that Whirlpool has a "good will policy" and turned it over to your product resolution department. She said I would receive a call in three days which would have been February 1, 2026 and still haven't heard from Whirlpool. Lousy customer service. In the meantime, 1800 Applicance ordered a new top and said it would take 2 weeks and Patrick would take the stovetop out, tear it down and reinstall the top, burner elements and knobs. I hope to hell he doesn't scratch my quartz countertop when the repairs are done. A new stovetop would have been so much easier then to put me through this. .

I purchased this cooktop as a replacement for my 35 year old Admiral Cooktop. It's almost identical, except the new burners have heat sensors on burners. Hard one to find in white, wife is very pleased with purchase.

It doesn™™t heat up fast enough. Perhaps it™™s controlled by a thermostat but I have to keep watching to make sure food is cooking. I didn™™t want a glass top because they break(I went through 3), so I wanted this model.

I purchased an electric cooktop to replace one that I couldn™™t get parts for. This cooktop is some idiotic design to save energy, it actually turns off while you™™re cooking! Try to boil some water! It turns off before it™™s boiling! If I hadn™™t bought and installed it myself, I would have complained and had it replaced with another brand. Whirlpool should supply old style burners to replace the junk it came with. I™™m retired and I don™™t have much extra money to replace things or I would have done it on day one. Maybe they will contact me and make it right by sending me better burners that don™™t have the energy saving feature

I loved my old GE Profile cooktop, the original one put in the house in 1977. But one of the switches broke so here we are. The Whirlpool is nice but 2 things: the top can't be raised to clean under the edges where gunk settles, or the entire area underneath the drip pans, without having to remove screws. The other thing is hard to believe: the instructions explained the units are set not to exceed a certain temperature. So it "might take longer for something to get to the proper boiling temperature," or something to that effect. Maybe I misunderstood?

We didn't want a glass topped cooktop, so we went with coils like we've had for years. I didn't realize that the standard has become burners with safety sensors. I cooked oatmeal the way I usually do, set on low. It usually takes 15-20 min, but on this new cooktop, 45 minutes. The next day was pasta, water got up to a nice boil, dropped in the pasta, set a timer and walked away. I went back to stir at the midway point and the pot was quiet with the pasta sitting at the bottom. I turned it back up, waited for a boil, turned it down a bit and watched as it stopped boiling again! If I hadn't paid so much to have it installed, I would have sent it back.

False advertizing - center button discolors

I bought this cooktop to replace a 30 + year old one when one burner finally died. Only choice that wasn't ceramic. It was installed yesterday. Then I boiled an egg for 5 minutes in a covered pan, and the center button discolored to a brown color. I tried unsuccessfully to clean it, but no luck. I called and was told this was expected. This was not mentioned in the literature, so it represents false advertizing to me. Now my brand new cooktop looks ugly, and there's nothing I can do about it! Not happy here. Also, instead of a raised edge as stated on the ad, the edge slopes down. More false advertising.

I have had my new cooktop for almost a week and I'm very happy with it. I had to get a level and do some bending for the burners to sit flat but my installer had told me I'd need to do that.

I bought this to replace my glass top(different company) during a home renovation. Was tired of the issues with the glass top and was only given enough refund to buy this one. I grew up using a coil type burner, so this was a good fit. Now I am having fits every time I use it! Does not cook well or properly at all. I can echo all of the other reviews on here as concerning the sensors, and heating the pan. NOTHING cooks properly.The sensors never come clean or look nice. Neither do the drip pans. I bought black enamel ones to replace. I would love to be able to replace the burners to the kind I am use to, but cannot find them. Wishing I had another option.

Why is Whirlpool selling a cooktop that automatically shuts off or drops temperature to simmer while you are in the middle of cooking? An absolutely unnecessary built-in feature on each burner shuts the temperature down continuously. What used to take 15 minutes to make now takes over one hour.
I called customer service and was offered a 15% discount on buying another cooktop without this feature. No exchange offered. I did not see anything in the product description about this automatic shut-off feature when I purchased it just a few months ago.

I'm very happy with the Whirlpool 30" Electric cooktop. The white looks clean and nice and I love the knobs and reliable burners. Don't ever eliminate knobs. They are easy to use, faster to use and last longer than touch screens.

The electric cook top is simple and of an older style with elements. Bought it because it fit the space in the island. The indicator light repeatedly burns out and it costs a lot to have repair person come to the house. The burners do not heat evenly. One element glows red hot even when set on a low setting. Ugh! Just not very well made.

I am very disappointed in the fact that the burners cool down in the middle of a cooking period, such as when I need to sustain a boiling point. Had I known this ahead of time, I would not have purchased this cook top. I think there should have been advance warning of this fault so I could have made other choices.

Whirlpool literature and sales rep led me astray on this.
1. Indicator light was supposed to stay on after cooktop is off, to indicate top is
hot. It does not.
2. Pics and literature said it has a raised edge to contain spills. It does not
3. Top has curved down edge so everything rolls off
4.Heating element has raised ™nipple™™ in center so pots do not lie flat
5. Manual says if you do canning (which i do) you need to replce burner. When you try to order the part it is discontinued

After 2 years, I have had to replace 1 burner (and had to get something that doesn't match exactly as I can't find the original burners. And 1 of the other burners will randomly shut off in the middle of cooking occasionally I am not happy with the very limited warranty on this product and the difficult time I have had trying to replace parts..

Purchased in March, 2023. This cooktop is horrible. It shuts completely off when lowering the controls. Additionally, the lower-left burner does not fit properly. It is a struggle to replace it after cleaning, and it is very difficult to get it to turn on again. This was the only choice I had in cooktops, since I have an all electric home. I am so upset with this purchase.

I bought this unit to replace an old "solid-iron" burner style. It was cumbersome to use and hard to keep clean (being black). Anyway this Whirlpool cooktop works perfectly and suits my cooking needs and "style". The elements heat (and cool off) much quicker, making it easier, faster with better heat control. The white enamel finish is a breeze to keep clean and the ease of element reflector bowl removal/replacement makes any spills a fast clean up as well. The installation went without a hitch (since my brother is an electrician). I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a similar design.

We replaced a 40+ year old Whirlpool cooktop which had finally quit working. Our new Whirlpool unit heats up faster, gets very hot, and has a wide adjustment range. I never keep the burner on high for very long before reducing the temperature so have not yet experienced the burner cycling off while cooking. The silver colored center raised button that sits in the center of each coil and is part of the government safety requirements is a nuisance. The button on each of the large burners keeps my frypans from sitting level. Obviously, I will need to purchase some heavier pans. The silver buttons have all discolored and have a gold hue.

I helped my mother-in-law purchase and install this cooktop less than 2 years ago and the 2 large burners have already failed. It only comes with a 1 year warranty, so she is going to have to pay the entire cost of the repair. Replacement burners are nearly $100, plus the cost for a repairman, which will easily be over $100. I would definitely NOT recommend this product.

my number one complaint is the metal plate in the middle of the burner. For almost 800.00 the unit is a little flimsy and the metal plate turns dark after cooking. I did not view the
unit in person but I had to pick it out from a catalogue. It was really the only choice available. It cooks well but I wish there were numbers on the dials instead of low and high. My old GE could be lifted to clean under. this is all one unit. It is satisfactory for my needs. My main objection is that the metal plate in the middle of the coils that turns dark and cannot be cleaned. It is a little flimsy for 800. dollars. It works and I will get used to it.S I do not like the dials with high and low. I would have liked numbers.

The electric stove top that I purchased does not work. It is impossible to actually cook on it. The sensors that were installed regulates the heat and automatically cools burners down when it feels it is to hot. If Home Depot would have explained Whirlpools new design, I would have never purchased it. So far Home Depot and Whirlpool refuse to return it. Whirlpool say it works by their Design, there design doe not work.
