Microwave head intermittent issues from the beginning. When you would start it sometimes it would just start making this clicking noise and then immediately shut down after 4 seconds. I made a video of the issue and scheduled an appointment with one of your authorized service people. I took time off of work to let him in. I showed him the video but he could not duplicate the issue and therefore could not fix it. I contacted Wirlpool and they said to call service again. If he couldn't fix it the first time why call them again? Took the unit to Lowes who would not exchange it or give me credit because they have a 30 day return policy. Told them to keep the unit, I ate the cost and bought a GE unit at best buys. Needless to say I am done with Whirlpool and Lowes.

Bought this as part of a kitchen renovation replacing an older GE model. So far we very satisfied with our purchase. The microwave is simple to use offering many options and features with a super easy to clean interior. The only negative is the location of the light feature which is at the rear of the unit, so it does not light up the entire stovetop.

I bought this a month ago and love that it matches my black whirlpool fridge (I am in the minority who doesn't love stainless). The blue numbers also match my existing range (sorry, not a whirlpool). All the features and the look is absolutely perfect. However, I will say, I assumed it had the same finish on it that the fridge does and it does not. The fridge has some clear coat or something that just does not show fingermarks. Its quite impressive as you expect black to show every little mark. The microwave does not have that, but nothing a can't fix with a microfiber towel. Otherwise it is absolutely perfection and looks so classy in my kitchen.

Mine came with a new recently build house a year ago (May 25th did a year). Last Friday 2nd it stopped cooking, it turns on but it wont cook. After reading so many bad reviews I changed my mind from fixing it to just buying a different brand and staying away from whirlpool. Ill also notify the home building company regarding this brand, they shouldn't use it on new homes and screw new home owners.

I am very pleased with this Microwave. The sensor cooking works great. The only thing I wish it had is the one touch buttons (1 for 1 min, 2 for 2 min.). It's not a big deal, just a couple more presses.

I bought this to replace the hood fan in my house, and had it installed in about 1.5 hours. Instructions were pretty clear. For cooking, it heats quickly and evenly. The sensor reheat does NOT work at all. I had set the microwave for 1 dinner plate, and after 5 minutes, I had to open the door to see overcooked meal. I've tried different settings with Reheat, and the microwave will never shut off without manual interference. The sound notification is gentle and distinct, and is a big improvement from any others that I have used.

Short review:
Pro: 1. Nice looking 2. Solid build 3. Features...sensor cooking and defrosting that actually works, easy clean interior, interior rack for two level cooking, standard features. 4. Affordable price 5. Great reputation for reliability 6. Has an oddly pleasant 'personality'
Con: 1. While affordable should have more power at this price 2. Availability...Had to wait a month for it.
Some background:
We had a Whirlpool made product (off-brand) for 17 years (!) before it became unusable (but kept warming food). We replaced it with another brand, which had really nice features. That (other brand) Microwave stopped working just before the warranty was up, they fixed it. It stopped working again in 4 months and they fixed it again...acting like they were doing me a favor.
It takes nearly a month to get the repairs done...we just couldn't go with out a microwave for a month again so I started shopping.
When I looked up reviews of microwaves, it turns out Whirlpool has a reputation of being the most reliable microwave made. So I bought this one.
It has a solid build and feels like it will last well, maybe outlasting our last Whirlpool!?!
It isn't the most expensive microwave, but it comes with some great features! I especially like the interior as it is extremely easy to clean. As for operating features, I didn't realize it, but the other microwave has sensor cook and defrost that didn't work properly...I just thought sensor cook was 'BS' (burned stuff) and auto defrost was 'CS' (cooked stuff) but I tried them on the Whirlpool and I'll be darned but it worked perfectly!
And finally (on the positives), this thing has personality. I am not one to anthropomorphize, but we wound up naming this microwave because the cooking/timer alarm has a little sing-song tune to it that sounds like it is singing 'Tina-Louise'. I know, silly, but it has caught on in our house and now the microwave has been named 'Tina'.
On the negative side, for two level cooking it is a bit squat and I am not sure how much value the rack adds...but it might. For the price I would think it would have more power...though it does fine cooking everything we cook. And finally, I wound up waiting a month for the thing to arrive...kind of defeating why I went and bought it. But what the heck, at least I feel fairly certain I won't be with-out a microwave for a while!
Conclusion: Overall very positive! Although I would like the features and build the microwave a step better than this one has, I just have a hard time justifying that kind of money for this appliance. So I am happy!

We updated our older Whirlpool microwave for the new version. Fits on the existing frame. Nice metal handle. Blue backlight is much more modern vs the green/yellow we had. When our food is ready, there's a cute little jingle that plays instead of the usual boring microwave beeps. Overall, very happy with our purchase, other than the itch to update the other appliances so that all the Whirlpool logos match! :)

I have only used this microwave for a month, but everything seems to work the way it should. Two complaints I have is, one the metal rack is supposed to be taken out of the microwave when second-tier cooking isn't being done. If you leave the rack in, sometimes an electric arc jumps between the rack and the bracket screws. Two, the tune the microwave plays when the cooking is over, instead of the normal beep.

This is our first time with a built-in. We have had over the range before, but they were removable, so we'll see how this works out. So far, we are very satisfied. The appliance was recommended by the company doing our kitchen re-modeling, so we are trusting them completely. This oven is very roomy and has so many choices on it. After a month, I am still reading directions and advice. We all like the nice little signal after cook time--not a loud beep or screech, but a pleasant little tune. Used mostly for reheating or potatoes, etc. but so far, so good.
